"Fan-favourite Damian McKenzie thrived under pressure in 2017, playing every match and sharing the kicking duties with Aaron Cruden. He has gone on to establish himself in the All Blacks and will be looking to light up the competition again in 2018." - The Chiefs

First five-eighth Damian McKenzie is an exciting player with the ability to create something out of nothing.

He was part of the All Blacks and Maori All Blacks in 2017 off the back of a highly impressive 2017 Super Rugby season where he won Coaches Player of the Year.

McKenzie was the 2014 New Zealand age group player of the year after his impressive performance at the 2014 IRB Junior World Cup. He was part of the Chiefs Development team in 2014, the New Zealand Secondary Schools in 2013 and the New Zealand Schools Barbarians in 2012.  He is the younger brother of Marty McKenzie.
